The history of Chinese landscape painting embodies the wisdom of Chinese culture and its system of aesthetics. The knowledge, artistic spirit, painting practices, and material legacy developed by Chinese painters created a unique tradition of painting. This course will interpret landscape paintings, and explore the wonderful and even mysterious spiritual world of ancient Chinese painters through images and historical  texts, and use the discipline of art to open the door to understanding Chinese culture.
